Profile: Carolyn (Akinyi) Olang

Carolyn is a jack of all trades and multi-talented. She is the person who will pick up a saw as she makes solar ovens, knit for climate, hand sew washable pads and pick up a hoe as she prays for rain and God’s blessings.

Being the founder of Rural Oasis CBO, commonly known as #shegeneratorspermahub, Carolyn means to be a fountain of knowledge and life skills for her community in Kenya. She is involved with permaculture training, beekeeping—which she sees as a game changer for women—and children’s sports. Most notably football, which helps young people be proactively engaged and reduces teen pregnancies and drug abuse.
