Police brutality in Gadigal-Sydney

Facism showed its ugly face in Gadigal-Sydney on Monday night, with all pretence dropped.

A gathering of peaceful protestors were set upon by grinning police — pepper sprayed (this was a crowd including children and elderly people), kettled, punched, intimidated, given conflicting orders. People on the ground praying were violently pulled to their feet, despite having earlier been given ‘permission’ by police to pray. People standing were forced viciously to the ground.

My gentle, harmless friend Chantelle, there to act as a medic, was singled out for a violent attack by police and left bleeding from the head with concussion. It was completely unprovoked, and continued despite her repeated protestations that she was a medic, despite her being already completely physically subdued, and despite the fact that she was also wearing a sunflower lanyard (signalling a hidden disability).
